However, on this particular evening the music sounds a little different. It’s a little louder, yet accommodating - It’s edgier, yet inviting - It is in and out of being in the back ground and yet, unashamedly live.
eTuesday evening brings Kenton Noel to the Kamg Tong. He more than lives up to his tag line ‘jazz with a hint of smooth’ as he moves from Jazz Standards to R&B, and from Smooth Jazz to Pop Classics. His interpretation of John Legend and Ed Sheeran songs invites you to sing along a little and then asks the mind and ear to contrast his treatment of standards like Autumn Leaves and Girl from Ipanema, to leave no doubt to the imagination of the discerning listener, that this musician communicates fully, the songs chord structures whilst boldly weaving new and fresh melodic lines.

As an experienced an accomplished performer, he is well used to the big stages and big audiences. Having performed to packed theatres throughout the UK in shows like ‘Soul Sister’ (the Ike & Tina Turner story), ‘Buddy’ and ‘Dancing in the Streets’.
He’s honed his skills to play sensitively during wedding receptions, entertaining at The Ritz, to corporate functions as a solo saxophonist and on many occasions - as part of a duo, trio or quartet.
